Thursday nights are Taco Rides on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail. It is a 20-mile ride that begins in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and well...ends in Council Bluffs! Ten miles out and ten miles back. And you can't take a taco ride without margaritas so here is Kristi filling our water bottles.
You also can't take this ride without the benefit of a well-equipped bike and in Rob's own words..."Ohh... You must not know about my dedicated taco ride only steed! I have a bike that is outfitted with lights, and it has speakers mounted to the frame that I can run my ipod through. I also have a hard-side cooler attached to the back to keep beverages on ice, that can be opened on the fly even. Also has a beer holder and koozey mounted up high on the handle bars for easy access. I'm tellen ya this ride is waaaaay casual. All about the party!!! "
This is a scenic ride over the mountain and through the woods and if you don't believe me, please check out the elevation map by clicking on the link! One of Rob's good friends, Greg, and his girlfriend, Annetta, joined us on the ride. Next up is a picture of the trailhead. That's the back of Kristi and Annetta in the next pic.
Here I am in Margaritaville. It is a stop along the way where everyone just kinda hangs out and where Greg and Rob did their shots of tequila. And what's a taco ride without tequila????
I think Kristi and I are standing in a ditch or something! Geez, how tall are you, Rob????
After you ride ten miles you stop in the small town of Mineola for tacos, of course!!! And more drinks, of course!!! And to pose for pictures, of course!!! We started out around 6 I believe and headed back around midnight. The ride back was pretty uneventful. No pictures, didn't happen, right???? I will have a quick link to all the pictures from the trip real soon so y'all come back now, here? Now, wasn't that a party??? Rob guestimated 600 riders - wow!!
