Three's Never a Crowd

It's so much easier to post my pictures on FB now that writing a blog is somewhat of a chore but for the few good friends who don't have FB accounts, I will write a short one about last weekend. Please visit this link for the rest of the pictures. See? Too easy!!! Anywho...that's me, Tom, and Cindy in Little Italy last Friday night. We started out at the Mulberry St Bar (where I'm told some scenes from the Soprano's were filmed). We had dinner at La Nonna and then back to the bar for dancing and karaoke. The people singing weren't people who had too much too drink and thought they could sing. The people singing were unbelievably good. I actually asked one guy if he was leaving because I wanted to hear him do another song. And now Tom and I have a song. After we walked in, Summer Wind by Frank Sinatra started playing. And Tom sent me a great little clip of the bar - check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrRkK7uefys.

Next up - me, Zack, and Cindy after the Yankee game on Saturday. And what a game. I'm not sure but a record may have been set for the longest half inning - 37 minutes!! That's how long it took the Cleveland Indians to score 14 runs on the Yanks. Cindy quipped that they should have invoked the 10 run rule like they do in Little League! That girl cracks me up. The Indians won the game 22-4. Zack wrote a great piece on the new stadium (opening weekend) and I felt like a celebrity when he posted this picture on his blog. But I like the picture right after this one on his blog of the two stadiums and the NYC skyline even more. I like it more especially since we were all together when he took it and I know that he had a piece of string attached to his camera so it wouldn't fall out of his hands as he slipped it through the bars at the subway station. Sometimes there's more to a picture than just the shot. Click on Zack's name for his story...

And, last but not least, the gentleman we met at Sunday's street festival. We met a lot of guys but Jonathan was so much fun. He stopped Cindy to see if she thought he looked good in this hat. "A hat defines a man," she told him. "It shows he has good taste, too." Before I knew it, she had attracted a small crowd and everyone wanted a hat!! Of course, Jonathan bought the hat and had to have his picture taken with us. He was visiting from Bawston.

We commented more than once that we don't understand how New Yorkers get such a bad reputation. We couldn't have had a better weekend and this is because everyone was so good to us. The gentleman who offered to help us purchase our subway tickets (we didn't ask him), the people who worked in the restaurants and the stores, and everyone on the street. It all has to do with YOUR attitude, if you ask me.

"The city that never sleeps",
2am is early (ask Linda). Great frends, food & fun, not to leave out the "View" from the 48th floor of our hotel. An annual excursion for sure!

Love the photo of you with the flower shop behind, also the scrabble rug and of course the stadium shots - too cool. Great trip! AND...yes to half moon cookies - and no to people who refer to them as black and whites! I'd join FB - but the people from my past that I want in my present are already here - like you - and so, for the time being - I'm FBless. :-)
